Roco Kingdom Eggs: Incubation, Rarity and Hatching

How Roco Kingdom eggs work: the 237 egg records, incubator slots, hatching by distance, and what the beta still does not tell you about rarity.

Last Updated: 2026-10-27

Quick answer: eggs come from the nursery and hatch in an incubator while you play. The build currently records 237 egg entries, far fewer than the 465 Jinies, because not every species breeds. Hatching is tied to distance travelled, not real time, so a session spent flying across the map hatches eggs faster than one spent standing in town.

Where Eggs Come From

There are three sources in the current build:

  • The nursery — the main source, produced by two compatible parents
  • Quest rewards — a small number of story eggs with fixed contents
  • Territorial lords — the "perfect egg" drop, which is a high-quality egg rather than a species

Wild eggs are not scattered around the map. If a guide tells you to "find an egg in Crystal Forest", it is describing a different game or a future update.

Egg count vs dex count

237 egg records for 465 species means roughly half the dex can be bred. The beta does not mark which species are excluded; legendaries and some story Jinies are the obvious gaps.

How Hatching Works

  1. Collect the egg from the nursery.
  2. Put it in an incubator slot.
  3. Travel. Distance counts toward the hatch, and the bar fills as you move.
  4. When the bar is full, the egg hatches automatically.

The incubator has limited slots, so you cannot stockpile every egg at once. Additional slots are unlocked through story progress, not purchased.

Distance counts on foot, by mount and by air. Fast travel also counts, which makes cross-map quest runs a good time to clear a backlog — the beta does not reduce distance credit for teleports.

Egg Rarity

The beta shows eggs with different shells, and the Chinese build ties shell rarity to the odds of a colour variant. Tencent has not published the odds, and the global client does not show a percentage.

What is confirmed:

  • Rarity is set when the egg is generated, not when it hatches.
  • The nursery UI shows the shell before you collect.
  • Perfect eggs from lords are a separate, higher tier.

What is not confirmed:

  • The exact odds per shell
  • Whether rarity affects species or only colour
  • Whether nature is rolled at egg creation or hatch

Any table claiming "1% prism egg" is unverified. The number may come from a datamine, but it is not in the global build's UI.

Egg Moves and Inheritance

A hatched Jini can inherit moves from its parents. The beta marks inherited moves in the skill list with a small icon, and they stay after evolution. This is the main reason to breed beyond dex completion: some moves are otherwise unavailable on the base form.

Inheritance is not guaranteed per move. The beta does not expose the selection rule, so the practical method is to hatch several eggs from the same pair and compare.

Managing a Batch

  • Keep one free incubator slot for quest eggs.
  • Bank eggs before a long story session; distance is the bottleneck.
  • Do not hatch a rare egg in town. The first hatch is when you want to be near a save point.
  • Check the shell before collecting; a common shell is still worth hatching for nature rolls.
  • Release duplicates only after checking their inherited moves.

Eggs and the Economy

Eggs cannot be sold, traded or listed. They are bound to the account from the moment they are generated. That closes the "egg market" that exists in some other creature games and makes the nursery a personal system rather than a social one.

The breeding guide covers compatibility, and the items guide covers the incubator-related items and where they drop.
