Roco Kingdom Items: Categories, Balls and Materials
A reference index of Roco Kingdom item categories: capture balls, evolution materials, food, recipes, quest items and cosmetics, plus where each one comes from.
Quick answer: the build's item database lists 3,682 items, which sounds enormous until you split it into categories. Most are food ingredients, recipe components, quest objects and cosmetics. The items that actually change your progression are capture balls, evolution materials, incubator items and lord drops — a few hundred entries at most.

The Seven Categories
| Category | What it does | Main source |
|---|---|---|
| Capture balls | Improve catch rate | Vendors, quests, crafting |
| Evolution materials | Unlock or enable evolution | Lords, quests, merchant |
| Incubator items | Speed up or modify hatching | Merchant, recipes |
| Food and ingredients | Cooking, healing, bonding | Gathering, farms, vendors |
| Recipe components | Crafting at the academy | Gathering, drops |
| Quest items | Story keys and deliveries | Quests only |
| Cosmetics | Outfits, furniture, dyes | Shop, events, quests |
The database counts every variant, which is why 3,682 is not as intimidating as it sounds. A single recipe can account for five ingredient entries and two intermediate components.
The useful way to read the item database is by category. A complete alphabetical list of 3,682 entries is not a strategy, it is a spreadsheet.
Capture Balls
Balls are consumable and stack. The Chinese build uses the Gulu Ball family, with tiers that trade cost for catch rate:
| Tier (translated) | Rough role | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Common Gulu Ball | Standard capture | Vendors, early quests |
| Advanced Gulu Ball | Better rate on mid-level Jinies | Vendors, crafting |
| King Gulu Ball | High-end capture | Lords, late vendors |
| Prism Ball | Special or chromatic capture | Events, rare drops |
The English names are not final. The global client shows the ball icon and a catch-rate modifier, but Tencent has not published the exact formula. Higher tiers help; they do not guarantee a catch.
Save the top tier for lords and story encounters. Using a Prism Ball on a common spawn is the most common early waste of resources.
Evolution Materials
Evolution materials are species-specific. The beta groups them under a single bag tab, but each entry names the species or family it applies to. The reliable sources are:
- Territorial lords — the main repeatable source
- Main story rewards — one-time, fixed
- Travelling merchant — rotating stock
- Recipe crafting — for the common tiers
The evolution guide explains how materials combine with level requirements, and the bosses guide covers the lord drop table.
Food, Cooking and Bonding
Food does three things: restores HP outside battle, raises bond with a Jini, and supplies recipes. Ingredients come from farms, gathering nodes and vendors. The farm at Sweetwater Farm and Windrun Farms is the main early source.
Cooking is not required for progression. It is a convenience and bonding system, and the beta does not gate any story chapter behind a recipe.
Quest Items
Quest items cannot be sold, dropped or stored in the shared bank. They appear in a separate bag section and disappear when the quest completes. If an item will not go into storage, that is usually why.
Cosmetics and Furniture
Outfits, dyes and furniture are account-wide once unlocked. The wardrobe is available from the start, and the beta grants a small starter set. Cosmetics have no stats and no gameplay effect.
The Merchant and Restock Times
The travelling merchant restocks four times a day, at roughly 08:00, 12:00, 16:00 and 20:00 local server time. Stock is per-visit and does not persist between refreshes. The trading guide covers what is worth buying and why there is no player market.
Money and What to Spend It On
The currency is Roco Coins, earned from quests, battles and selling junk items. The sensible spending order is:
- Balls, always
- Evolution materials when they appear
- Incubator upgrades
- Cosmetics last
Do not buy food. Ingredients are cheaper and the recipes are free.
